Green tea truffles

Green tea truffles These truffles are made from white chocolate and Japanese green tea powder or Maccha. I purchased mine online. It wasn't cheap but a little goes a long way. It only takes two teaspoons to create 15 mouth watering truffles.

250g (9oz) white chocolate
2 teaspoons green tea powder
60ml (4 tbsps) double cream
2 tbsp water

1 teaspoon green tea and icing sugar for dipping

Place the white chocolate in a metal or glass bowl and place that over a small pan of simmering water. Allow the chocolate to melt and then whisk in the remaining ingredients. If the mixture looks very 'fatty' and separated add a little more water as necessary.

Place the mixture in the fridge for two hours or more to firm up.

When the mixture is firm roll the truffle mixture into balls and dip in a mixture of icing sugar and green tea. Serve these straight from the fridge.

We now open for Sunday lunch from 11am to 4pm!
