Serves 6Apparently the cobbler originated in the British American colonies when the Brits abroad couldn’t get ingredients like suet for their traditional puds. It’s not the most elegant of desserts but if made correctly has a delicious taste and texture and goes so well with homemade vanilla custard. It can be made by blobbing on top of the fruit in a large tray or in individual dishes. In the restaurant we bake them in individual pie dishes.
